Handy cleaning & maintenance tips

Glass

• Stir in a cup of vinegar in a full bucket of warm water. Clean windows and mirrors with this mixture then wipe off using newspaper. Wear rubber gloves to avoid ink stained hands (for a great moisturising hand treatment cover your hands in Vaseline and then put on cotton gloves as well as the rubber ones).

• Eucalyptus oil will remove any sticky residue left from stickers and labels.

Stinky smells

• Soak a cotton ball in vanilla and place inside your vacuum bag.

• Heat a bowl of water with a few drops of vanilla essence to get rid of those microwave odours.

Sparkling fridge

• Clean your fridge with warm water and vinegar. Use an old cloth wrapped around a wooden spoon to reach those hard to get to places.

• Once the fridge is clean, wipe down using a bucket of warm water with a few drops of vanilla essence.

Walls

• To clean walls, simply use a clean cloth and water. For more stubborn stains use a very small amount of mild soapy detergent in warm water. Make sure the cloth you use is colour fast so the colour won’t come off on your walls
